The Agrohealth has successfully established public and private projects considering the handling of the palms beetle also known as Red palm weevil.
The beetle penetrates in the palm and the main damage is made from the larvae with her feeding ways (of creating galleries approaching the “heart” of the plant, because it is the “source” of the sugars it feeds). When eaten the meristem of the Palm the tree is dead.
The control includes the cutting and cleaning of infected strains and crown configuration so that the spraying of the specific compositions have a greater penetration into the palm for killing beetle.
The Agrohealth has qualified personnel for the early detection and identification of the beetle and have appropriate staff, agriculturists and workers – who are specially trained for the pruning and spraying operations at high altitudes.
